How to Upload and Assign Leads Using Standard Curation
1. Introduction
Standard Curation is used to upload lead contact information into OutPerform and assign the imported leads to either an individual user or a team.
The information that can be imported includes:
- Contact name
- Email address
- Phone number
Preparing the upload file correctly helps ensure that the leads are imported successfully and distributed to the correct users.
2. Open the Curation Page
- On the left navigation bar, click Curation.
- The Curation page will open, where you can view and manage existing curations.
3. Create a New Curation
- Click the blue + Curation button.
- Enter a name for the curation.
- Select Standard as the curation type.
- Once all the information has been entered, create the curation.
4. Open the Curation Details Page
- Locate the curation that you created.
- Click the Curation Name.
- The system will open the Curation Details page.
5. Prepare and Upload the Data
- On the Curation Details page, click Import Data.
- Download and use the official template provided by the system.
- Enter all required contact information into the template.
The upload file should include:
- Contact name
- Email address
- Phone number
Important: Always use the official system template. Changing the column names, column order, or file structure may cause the upload to fail.
6. Check the Phone Number Format
Before uploading the file, review every phone number and make sure it follows the correct format.
6.1 Malaysian Phone Numbers
Malaysian mobile numbers should begin with 01.
Example:
0123456789
6.2 International Phone Numbers
For international phone numbers, include the correct country code without the plus sign.
Examples:
- Singapore: 65XXXXXXXX
- United States: 1XXXXXXXXXX
Note: Incorrect phone number formats may cause upload errors or prevent contacts from being processed correctly.
7. Check the Contact Name Format
- Review all contact names in the upload file.
- Make sure the names do not contain a pipe symbol.
- The pipe symbol looks like this: |
- Remove the pipe symbol from the contact name before uploading the file.
Incorrect example:
John | Tan
Correct example:
John Tan
8. Choose the Lead Assignment Type
After uploading the file, select whether the leads should be assigned to an individual user or to a team.
8.1 Assign Leads to a User
- Select User as the assignment type.
- Choose the user who should receive the leads.
8.2 Assign Leads to a Team
- Select Team as the assignment type.
- Choose the team that should receive the leads.
- Click Show Member to view the users inside the selected team.
9. Check the Team Members
Before assigning leads to a team, confirm that the team only contains users who should receive the leads.
- Click Show Member to review the selected team.
- Check that all listed users should be included in the lead distribution.
- If a user should not receive the leads, click Open Team Settings.
- Remove the user from the team.
- Save the team changes.
- Return to the curation import process.
Important: Complete the team-member check before importing the data. Leads may be distributed immediately after the import is completed.
10. Preview the Uploaded Data
- After submitting the file, review the Preview Data section.
- Confirm that the expected number of leads appears.
- Review the following information:
- Contact name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Selected user or team
- If any lead is missing or incorrect, do not continue with the import.
- Correct the upload file and upload it again.
11. Import the Leads
- Confirm that all records appear correctly in the Preview Data section.
- Confirm that the correct user or team has been selected.
- Click Import Data.
- Wait for the system to complete the import.
Recommended Process
Create Curation → Open Curation Details → Import Data → Upload File → Choose User or Team → Review Preview Data → Import Data
12. Final Check
After the import has been completed, confirm the following:
- All expected leads were imported.
- The contact information appears correctly.
- The phone numbers are displayed in the correct format.
- The leads were assigned to the correct user or team.
- The selected team contained only the intended recipients.
Completing these checks helps prevent leads from being assigned to the wrong users and ensures that the imported contact information can be used correctly by the system.
